About Renate
I am a Clinical Psychologist providing private psychological therapy to adults Australia-wide via secure telehealth.
My approach is depth-oriented, relational and reflective. I am interested in understanding the patterns and experiences that shape how people relate to themselves, others and the demands of their lives, particularly when familiar ways of coping are no longer working.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, burnout and chronic stress, emotional overwhelm, trauma, relationship and attachment difficulties, self-doubt and perfectionism, grief and significant life transitions. I have a particular interest in supporting health and helping professionals, as well as women and families navigating the psychological challenges of fertility, pregnancy, birth, loss and the transition to parenthood.
My clinical work draws on psychodynamic, relational, emotion-focused, schema-informed and trauma-focused approaches, including EMDR. Prior to training as a psychologist, I qualified and worked as a midwife in Germany, which continues to inform my understanding of the physical, emotional and relational dimensions of pregnancy, birth and early parenthood.
